God's Littlest Angels



God's Littlest Angels is a Haitian orphanage located in the mountains above Pétion-Ville, close to the village of Fermathe. The majority of the children brought to the orphanage are between the ages of newborn and 7 years old. We also have older children, sibling groups, and children with special needs waiting for adoptive parents.

God's Littlest Angels has ministered to the children of Haiti since 1994 and has been involved in international adoptions since 1997. GLA is involved in several children's ministries in the local community. In the year 2000, GLA implemented a school sponsorship program for children unable to attend school due to the lack of funds. Today, more than 200 children attend school sponsored by people in North America and Europe.

God's Littlest Angels is a 501(c)(3) non-profit Christian ministry incorporated in the State of Colorado. In 2000, GLA Canada was formed and is a registered Canadian Charity. All financial donations received in the United States, Canada, and France will receive a tax-deductible receipt.

Hurricane Hannah brought destruction to Haiti last night , September 2nd.  Gonaive had flooding with some deaths reports.  Our area sustained downed trees, toppled brick walls, and roads blocked.  People are already out cutting the trees blocking the roads.  Our metal roofs got blown off the house and we lost the internet dish at the Toddler House.  The wind was blowing so hard the rain came in around the closed windows of the orphanage and flooded our dining room table and floor!  There seems to be as many leaves inside the house as outside!  Thankfully, we are all safe and God kept us from harm.  Now we just have to clean up from the storm.  This was much worse than any storm we have personally seen in the 17 years we have lived in Haiti.

YOUR HELP IS NEEDED to send some children to school.  We have over 200 children who applied for our school sponsorship program this year, but only enough funds to send 50 of them to school!  For $30 per month, just $1 per day (the cost of a cup of coffee or a soft drink), you can give a child the gift of learning!  Please consider making a donation to help a child learn to read and write!  To Donate via credit card...

April 12, 2008 - Safety Update - Because the cost of food has doubled on some items and gone up 40% on others, protests started a week ago all over Haiti.  This past week, Port-au-Prince had looting and rioting.  Today, the Prime Minister was asked to step down and the President arrived at an agreement with local rice importers to lower the price of a 100 pound (50 kg) sack of rice by $3 USD.  With these two things taking place, next week should be quiet and back to normal.  We are safe and all is well in our area.  We had trouble getting water, propane for cooking, and food, but on Friday we were able to find most things that we needed.  Keep praying for Haiti and the children.

February 12, 2008 - IMPORTANT: We have finished our trial period with our adoptive parent volunteer program.  It has now been evaluated and we have decided not to continue the program at this time.  We know there are some parents already scheduled to come and volunteer at the orphanage, but we will not be taking any new applications from volunteer adoptive parents.

All adoptive parents that have adopted children from GLA - Please go to the adoption page and download the English and French IBESR post-placement forms, fill them out, and return them to us via email or post office.  IBESR requires post-placement reports yearly on all adopted children.  Sending the update on the child's birthday is an easy way of remembering this important task!

IMPORTANT - When coming to GLA, please do not plan to arrive or depart on a Saturday or Sunday.  As well, you must arrive no later than 4 PM.  We do not have a driver on weekends and the twisting mountain road be dangerous after dark.  If your airline schedule forces a Saturday arrival or departure, please write us before booking your ticket.
